Retirees Shouldn’t Count on Frank Bisignano to Stop Musk’s Destruction of the Social Security Administration
Richard Fiesta, Executive Director of the Alliance for Retired Americans, issued the following statement regarding Frank Bisignano’s confirmation hearing today before the Senate Finance Committee.
“Retirees who tuned into Frank Bisignano’s confirmation hearing hoping to hear that he planned on halting the chaos and destruction of the Social Security Administration caused by Elon Musk’s DOGE team were left disappointed.
“Mr. Bisignano refused to contradict Musk’s claim that Social Security is a criminal Ponzi scheme or acknowledge that a person whose benefit claim takes 3 months longer to complete simply because of new DOGE-imposed changes had experienced a cut in the benefits they earned.
“Mr. Bisignano knows a lot about processing payments and came across as a big fan of artificial intelligence in call centers. Unfortunately, he said nothing to assure older Americans that he gets the unique challenges technology presents to Social Security beneficiaries, who are older and have less access to or familiarity with technology.
“We urge members of the Senate to reject his confirmation.”
The Alliance for Retired Americans is a national organization with 4.4 million members that advocates for retirement security for all Americans.

"This is grim news," said Adam Gaffney, an ICU doctor at the Cambridge Health Alliance. "For decades, the EPA's Office of Research and Development has produced the science that underlies the regulations and technologies that protect us from innumerable hazards."

Maxwell, who is now serving a 20-year prison sentence "for conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse minors," collected dozens of letters for the book, according to the Journal.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Friday that it will reduce its workforce by more than 3,700 and abolish its stand-alone science branch, moves that one group of former EPA officials warned will "gut" research and enforcement and "leave communities unprotected."
The EPA said the personnel cuts—which will be achieved via layoffs, voluntary early retirements, and other measures—will deliver $748.8 millions in savings.
